It is very interesting that so many Baywinds residents have picked up on how the “chosen ones” (i.e., the Baywinds’ Presidents) were picked to negotiate the purchase of Club Baywinds and possibly be the Directors of the Baywinds Community Association for the first year or longer.
It was elegantly put by Edmund Dante that these neighborhood presidents have a difficult time running their own neighborhoods. The way I see it, some of these presidents seem to have very little management skills to conduct meetings and document their positions. They have gone through several landscaping contractors, management companies, and some have refused to communicate to their own board of directors on many occasions.
It is obvious that they are overwhelmed.
How are these presidents going to conduct and run neighborhood meetings while running the Baywinds Community Association? Most get into office by default and not with skills. Do they have skills? Not likely to run the Baywinds Community Association. Most have problems running their own neighborhood board meetings. They have not even done the simplest task of forming an organization. They do not conduct open meetings despite the Florida Statues requirements that meetings be open to the residents.
Lennar chose to deal with these Presidents. Let us choose our own directors to run the Baywinds Community Association. We should all take a minute and let Lennar know that we do not want the Declaration of Restrictions and Covenants for the Baywinds Community changed. The Declaration of Restrictions and Covenants for the Baywinds Community addresses how elections should be conducted. Please, let Lennar know that we as a community should vote our directors into office. We do not need Lennar to tell us who we need to run our community.
Don’t forget these are the same negotiators that turned down Club Baywinds and $500,000 last year in response to a minority of residents who did not want a five story building across from their homes. These same negotiators did not have a problem with having three story apartments next to Lennar’s Sandpiper Cove neighborhood.
Therefore, I urge you to contact Lennar and let them know how you prefer to run elections in our community.
