Edmund Dante's Views on Fee Increases

June 13, 2005

Many of us want better services and a good looking, well manicured and cared for development. This is one reason why we chose to live here.

We want to take pride in our surroundings and rightly so. This costs money. If we face a large dues increase to achieve this so be it.

But remember, those of you who live in Lighthouse Pointe, all 180 homeowners, are going to pay the lion's share of any large increase. You supported the fight to stop the condo buildings but no one really explained the consequences of your actions.

You folks collectively will have a single vote on the future Master Board just like Heron, Sailfish and all the other small coves. Lighthouse Pointe is going to pay a disproportionate part of running Baywinds as compared to its voting power.

Did you realize this or did anyone bother to tell you these facts? Probably not. Well now you know. This was called taxation without representation and still is!
