Broken Hearted's Viewpoint on ViewpointsMay 11, 2005

I find interesting two of the viewpoints submitted to BaywindsLife©.
First the one submitted by Marty Ellick obviously has merit. This is an individual with experience in political matters. I share his feeling that going to a 12-member board does not serve Baywinds interests. Are there others in this community that feel that way? If we had known in advance that this change was being proposed, and if it had been a separate item when we voted on April 26th, would it have passed?
There are those that have argued that each community needs to have a representative on the Master. I ask why? The Master does not have anything to do with what each individual community association controls. You have your own ACC, your own common land, etc. The Master takes care of what does not belong to any of the coves/neighborhoods. The Master should be representing every single person in Baywinds, not just the people that elected them from their cove/neighborhood.
These meetings could get very long if each of the 12 people speak on every item on the agenda. Will they get bogged down with 12 different opinions?
The second viewpoint that is interesting is Gerry Silverman’s on pen names. I think his is one of the first I have heard that doesn’t have a problem with pen names. Interesting that the first three viewpoints all used their own names. From what I can see, the owner, Bernie Amero, is only providing a vehicle for people to express their viewpoint and ask questions. He has clearly said that inaccurate information or attacks on individuals will not be published. I feel he has acted reasonably. I, so far, have seen no reason for people to be saying negative comments about his new policy. That is mostly what I am hearing from individuals. Unfortunately, some people don’t understand that every individual has a right to their viewpoint, and if you happen to live next door to a person like that, well relationships can become strained. Even when friends disagree, it can be damaging.
So as long as the rules Bernie has set down are followed, I see nothing wrong with using pen names. Therefore, I will become the first to sign my viewpoint as:
