WELCOME TO PELICAN COVE

Thank you for visiting the BaywindsLife© website and this Pelican Cove Welcome Page.  Pelican Cove is a community of 105 single family unattached homes in the Baywinds community.  Pelican Cove is one of the eleven active communities in Baywinds.

The map shows that Pelican Cove is located on the north east side of the Baywinds community. There are two lakes associated with the Pelican Cove community. One of the two lakes is shared with Heron Cove, our neighbor to the west.  On the south side, our neighbor is Harbour Cove. The houses that do not back onto lakes are backed onto the wetland preserves or other lots.

The Pelican Cove community, like other communities in Baywinds, is governed by two (2) shared documents and one (1) document just for our community.  The shared documents are Baywinds Community and Baywinds Club.  As homeowners in Pelican Cove, we agreed with these documents when we purchased our homes.  The residents of Pelican Cove have an annual meeting, the General Membership Meeting.  We have five (5) Board of Directors that are voted into office at the annual membership by the owners of Pelican Cove.  The five board members meet each month to conduct Pelican Cove business.  All homeowners and residents are welcome at these meetings.  Please contact the secretary to be placed on the Pelican Cove community’s agenda for the Board or General meetings. The approved minutes of the Pelican Cove’s Boards of Director’s and General Membership meetings are posted under Minutes listed in the column to the left. The Pelican Cove Board of Directors have their meeting on the 3rd Monday of each month at 7 PM at Club Baywinds.

Pelican Cove community, as part of Baywinds, offers its residents and homeowners a beautiful landscaped active adult community.  Additional landscaping and screened in areas can be added to the Pelican Cove owner’s property, with approval of Pelican Cove’s Architectural Committee.  Homeowners are required to complete an application for alterations for changes to the outside of their homes.  In the fall, when our “snowbirds” return, we have a block party for the Pelican Cove residents and their invited guests. Each homeowner/resident is encouraged to bring a covered dish to the block party. A small fee is associated with the block party to cover set-ups, drinks, and utensils. As always, the March 5, 2005 block party was a success. The weather was excellent. The time was well spent, catching up with friends and neighbors. As Pelican Cove homeowners, we are members of Club Baywinds.  Club Baywinds has a charming resort ambiance and is enhanced by facilities with a stage, and include a grand ballroom, rooms for card game players, billiards, multimedia events, arts and crafts, exercise, aerobics, and a library/ computer center. The club offers tennis courts, bocce and shuffleboard areas, and 3 pools and a whirlpool. Classes, activities and shows are scheduled regularly.  Club Baywinds posts their activities on the BaywindsLife’s calendar.

Several of the homeowners and residents of Pelican Cove are members and actively participate in the Baywinds’ Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and Citizen Observer Patrol (COP) programs.  These programs are sponsored by local government agencies. Homeowners and residents are encouraged to join these programs.

The Pelican Cove Directory is published on the web.  Each homeowner/resident is encouraged to review the directory for correctness.  Please send your corrections to Paul M. Helfgott.  Paul will forward corrections to the WEBMASTER.  The Baywinds Directory on the web will reflect the changes too.
