Condo President/Treasurer Steals Nearly $1 MillionSeptember 6, 2008

It was reported in The Miami Herald's September 5, 2008 edition, that Whitehall at Pine Ridge condo association treasurer Mr. Winkelholz stole $920,000 from the 264-unit condo association (i.e., about $3,500 for each unit in the condo association). Towards the end of the article, it is reported that Mr. Greenberg, the 84 year old president of the Parker Plaza Estates, an oceanfront high-rise, was arrested for scheming to siphon an estimated $1.4 million from the treasury of the 520-unit apartment condo (i.e., over $2,500 for each unit in the condo association) and Ms. Weinstein, the 64 year old former president of the Quadomain condo, was arrested for grand theft for using association money to pay health insurance premiums for herself and her husband. In a previous article it was reported in The Sun Sentinel on July 11, 2008 that Mr. Winkelholz stole $759,654 from the 264-unit Whitehall condo association, where he was president, and the 7,000 member Pine Island Ridge Country Club, where he was vice-president.
