A Gorey Shareholders Meeting

This morning Steven P. Jobs and the rest of the Apple executive staff hosted the company's annual shareholders meeting with the full board of directors, including Al Gore, in attendance.

Along with the standard questions about profitability vs. R&D spending (yes, Apple is investing in R&D through the recession, and yes, the strategy is working), the rumors of a purchase of a major music company (no comment), there was also a question about how the voting for the board of directors is conducted and counted. Mr. Jobs went into details about the voting and counting process, and then as an example, he compared his 80% vote with Al Gore's 94% vote to the board.

Mr. Gore took that opportunity to opine about how things would be different if only he had had that result in 2000. And then another shareholder took the opportunity to ask Mr. Gore to comment about how it feels to win an "honest election!" Gore seemed to have a good laugh at the question, but made no comment.
