The Man Who Would Be Director
I've just learned that Steve Jobs' latest
surprise Apple development was securing former Vice President Al Gore as a
member of Apple's Board of Directors. I'm wondering if this is another
"first" of sorts for Apple as I can't recall of any other US company ever having
an ex-US President or ex-US Vice President on its board. Gore has somewhat of a
reputation as a forward thinker, so it will be interesting to see what he can
bring to a company that's known for its forward-looking vision. Let's just hope
no one calls for a recount of this decision!
