Crooked 'Til The End
Here it is the eve of the most important
presidential election in recent history; certainly in my lifetime. Someone with
any common sense would think that the incumbent candidate would be walking the
straight-and-narrorw, keeping everything on the up-and-up so as not to give his
opponents any further ammunition with which to engineer his defeat. This
incumbent however, as I've often said, has no common sense. He possesses only
arrogance and flagrant disregard for the workings of a fair democracy. On the
eve of his possible re-election or defeat, the SCAB (Supreme Court Appointed
Bush), is up to his same old dirty tricks, and so I find myself either writing a
final rant against this crook who stole the office of U.S. President in 2000, or
at the beginning a new four-year series. So what has the SCAB done now to once
again fan the flames of lefties like me? Why, nothing less than to "let fly the
dogs of IRS" on the NAACP!
The issue concerns a speech given by the NAACP's Chairman, Julian
Bond, at the NAACP's 95th annual convention in which Mr. Bond
criticized the SCAB's administration on its piss-poor record on affirmative
action, the Iraq war, civil rights, and the economy. Mr. Bond did not endorse
any other political candidate, he merely
criticized
the SCAB's administration. Now, the week before the presidential election, IRS Chairman, Mark Everson, has announced that
the IRS will review the tax exempt status of the nation's oldest and largest
civil rights organization because of this speech -- a speech that was delivered
on July 11, almost four months
ago!Granted, Mr. Bond's speech was
pretty harsh, and could be argued to be politically partisan. So why isn't it
okay for the IRS to review the tax exempt status of the NAACP? Because it once
again blatantly implements a double-standard that is not applied to all tax
exempt entities, only those that are not in alignment with the current
administration's policies. If the IRS were operating in a truly non-partisan
fashion, then it would also be reviewing the tax exempt status of the Catholic
church, which went much farther than merely
criticizing
Senator Kerry. An Archbishop for the Catholic church has openly mandated that no Catholic may vote for a
candidate who supports abortion rights. Where's the IRS Chairman on that issue?
I'll tell you where -- right in the SCAB's
pocket.I just don't understand how even
the most die-hard Republican can in good conscience vote for giving these crooks
a second term. I can only assume that anyone still willing to vote for the SCAB
and his gang of mobsters is mainlining Fox News
Kool-Aid!So what can we do about the
SCAB's down-to-the-wire abuse of power and privilege? Well, for starters, visit
the Government Accountability Office's FraudNet web site and lodge a complaint again
the IRS and Chairman Mark Everson's review of the NAACP's tax exempt status
without equal review of the Catholic church. And more importantly, visit your
polling place tomorrow and vote for John Kerry. Even if you're not a Kerry
supporter, right off the bat you'll get a couple of tangible benefits from
defeating the SCAB: 1) you'll have four years to rant and fume in your own blog
about "that damned Democrat in the White House"; and 2) you'll
finally
shut me up and get me back to writing about techie issues! Do us all a favor and
vote
Kerry!
