Work & Watershed

I currently hold the post of Digital Developer, in the Communications department, at Watershed Media Centre. Last week was the eleventh anniversary at Watershed, having started there in June, 1997 as IT Technician

Throughout the eleven years the job, and the job title, has changed enormously. Currently I spend most of my time designing and implementing desktop applications and tools for the Macintosh and server applications in Java using the WebObjects Framework.

Home & the building of it

For the past four years Jackie and myself having been converting a small church hall, which was originally built as a chapel, into a home. Both of us work from home in Pontypridd, South Wales, at least three days a week and we wanted a cost effective live-work space.

“Why is it taking so long?” I hear you ask. Well… Spare time and probably more importantly money. Kevin McCloud makes it look so very easy on the television and it’s all wrapped-up in an hour. The house does still look like a building site to visitors and they are surprised, and probably polite, when we say how close most of it is to being finished.
