Nick Leet: Guitars, Vocals

The saga of Nick Leet. The triumphs, the failures and the laid back boredom of a young songwriter...

I was born in a small town (insert John Cougar music) in North Central North Dakota. I grew up in a town of 800 people, all of whom I'm pretty sure I know. At the age of 17, I joined forces with a couple friends and formed "Standard Thompson." In 1999, we moved to Minneapolis and after almost seven years, three CDs and relative successes I left the band in May 2003 to find myself. What I found was love, heartbreak and a period that I call my "Brian Wilson phase." Lots of solitare, "Three's Company" and writing songs about love, friendships gone wrong and good old fashioned weight gain (fucking McDonalds) In July 2003, I met Mark Devaraj a kick ass drummer and fellow music snob. After the intitial we both have beards, ZZTop jokes we got down to the bizness of rockin. I shaved off the beard and immediately Producer/Engineer, Jon Tranberry, joined the band on the four string bass guitar (after all bass guitars have four strings...take notes jam bands) In October, came Country and his cowboy boots and the rest is history. Back to the enjoyment I had playing music as a teenager. Rock on with your bad self. I mean that's right beeeyatch. --NICK LEET
