Erik van der Wurff is a distinguished international composer and accomplished conductor, pianist and arranger who has worked for nearly four decades in Europe and America and has
garnered prestige and multiple awards.
Van der Wurff has composed music for the theater, feature films, and international television shows, including the popular 'Alfred J. Kwak' cartoon series, has conducted some of
the world's finest orchestras and philharmonics, and has performed on international stages, including Carnegie Hall and Alice Tully Hall in New York, as well as renowned venues in London,
Vienna, Berlin, Hamburg, Amsterdam, and more.
Van der Wurff has written five children's musicals, which were staged in New York, Moscow, Prague and The Netherlands.
He has also arranged music for international artists such as Liesbeth List and Herman van Veen (with whom he also worked as a pianist for 36 years),
as well as some of the finest classical musicians.
More than 15 of the productions in which he participated were awarded an Edison (the European equivalent of the Grammy Award).
In 1978, he received the Louis Davids prize for the best song of the year, and was awarded the Golden Dog from EMI.
