Allen Hahn Lighting Design
Allen has worked as a lighting designer for theater opera and dance since 1991 with recent work including 'Don Giovanni' for Glimmerglass Opera, 'Mitridate' for Santa Fe Opera, 'Rinaldo' for New York City Opera and last season's critically acclaimed 'Death In Venice' for Chicago Opera Theater.
In 2002 he designed 'Giulio Cesare' at the Royal Danish Opera which is to be released on DVD in 2005.
He will return to Copenhagen this winter to design the world premiere of 'Kafka's Trial' an opera by Poul Ruders.

Other opera work includes 'L'incoronazione di Poppea', and 'Il Viaggio a Reims' in Chicago, 'Luisa Miller' and 'Il Trittico' for the Spoleto USA Festival, 'La Fanciulla del West' and 'La Finta Giardiniera' for Opera Zuid in The Netherlands, 'Il Sogno Di Scipione' and this February, 'Arianna in Creta' for New York's own Gotham Chamber Opera.
Allen's design work has also been seen at Lincoln Center, the Brooklyn Academy of Music and at the Juilliard School as well as a number of productions for Opera Français de New York and at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia.
His work with American choreographer Donald Byrd has been seen extensively in the United States and he has had a longstanding affiliation with the New York based multimedia theater company The Builders Association whose 'Alladeen' won an Obie earlier this year.
