Companions...

Tab now has a Friesian companion. Look him up on his own page:
Aise van Ravensbos, aka CALIN

Welcome to Tab's page!

Tabatha Ster is a FHANA/FPS Dutch registered Friesian. She was born on May 21, 1998 sired by YK 339. Her dam, Sabrina Ster, is by Daen. Full papered and registered with a 2nd premie in the foalbook, Tab was accepted in the studbook with a 2nd premie Star. She was also champion mare!

See how much fun we've been having over the last 6 years...

I flew to Troy, MO in November 2000 to meet Tabatha, welcomed and hosted by Jack and Carol Angelbeck of Bluffview Friesians. Tab was 2.5 years old, 15.2 hands. I got on her back and loved her... I knew I had found my Friesian!

Bad weather in Missouri held her back until finally, after 5 days in a Creech Bros truck, Tab arrived in Los Altos Hills, CA on January 3rd, 2001 to live with two Arabian mares in a big pasture. My friesian, my friend, my filly had stepped into our lives.

In the spring, I moved her to be near arenas, trails, good company and a trainer.

In June I took her to a walking distance schooling show. Tab won a blue ribbon in her first halter class... A white in a walk/trot English equitation and a green in the walk/trot English pleasure!

Tab's agenda was to continue to grow up and to have fun in turn out, arena or pasture, and on the trails where she soon proved to be enjoyable, bold and brave with trail buddies or alone! We celebrated our first trail ride, first solo ride, first canter, first swim in a lake, first hunt, first night ride. The boys enjoy her too!

We were going to a formal affair and had to rent a tux for Chris... So we played dress up with Tab!

We decorated her and she was of course part of our Christmas 2001 pictures...

Tab was invited to a fairy tale wedding in San Francisco. She carried a knight in shining armor to his utterly surprised bride. There is a page with more pictures on that event...

April 21st marked our very first USDF show! We won our class, an Introductory Level, test 2 with a 74.21%. Check it out!

I'm having so much fun with my Friesian filly, she truly is a dream come true. Everything I imagined and more...............

On Sept 19th 2002 at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds Tabatha became Ster and was also the champion mare! See the results of that Keuring/Inspection on the Coastal California Friesian Horse Club archived page. The judges liked my modern looking Friesian. She was officially measured at 16H (163cm).

For our first trip to the beach (Half Moon Bay) Tab did very well... She decided she'd rather stay on the dry sand though! Next time we'll ride in the surf.

Tab and I attended a clinic with FEI rider and USDF certified instructor Rachel Saavedra. We worked on canter for the first time in the arena -much more work needed....... but Tab has a good canter!

In March 2003 Tab and I attended a clinic with Mark Rashid. What fun it was, camping in a stall and all! We were in Ataskadero, CA, at Rancho del Rio. Tab and went for a ride IN the river.

In May 2003 we attended another show at CTETA! This time Friesian classes were included in a UPHA Saddle Bred show. We did our best (tough competition!) and had a great time (and a green ribbon).

Tab was bred to Wicher 334 of Honor Bright Farms. Wicher passed on the day her pregnancy was confirmed. Worse yet, the pregnancy ended at 11 weeks.

Tab is moving to Oregon! check it out!....

2003 : first Christmas in Oregon, with our latest addition to the family, Leia, a 3 year old German Shepherd who fit right in with us.

It's a change of scenery for sure! Tab has her herd ; Suzie, a Hanoverian filly who belongs to my friend Erin. Everybody looks happy.

Tab now has her own beautiful luxurious custom trailer from Silverado. Watch out for more adventures as we hit the Oregon trails!

Waving to the adoring crowd, Tab and I are now walking in Parades with the VVR group (Valley View Riders). Watch us on National TV June 12th 2004 during the Grand Floral Parade in Portland.

Exploring the Oregon Trails and the Beach (NewHaven)!

Going to shows, lessons, parade practices, friends' barns, trails... Tab's pooped! Good thing Calin is here now to help with the load!

On April 14, 2005, at 6pm, Tab gave birth to a colt in her favorite pasture. Saphire is by Rintse 386. Saphire is now growing up as a member of the Forest Boyz... check out M&M'S!
