On Chesil Beach by Ian McEwan

finished 6/16 ........ contemp fiction UK .......... rating 6

Um.... I can't honestly recommend this one unless you're a die-hard McEwan fan. It's kind of interesting but it's kind of brutishly short, too. Not a happy, feel-good book.

This is the story of a newly married couple on their wedding night in 1962. They're both virgins. He is eagerly anticipating the bedroom scene. She is dreading it. In a series of flash-backs, the narrator takes us through the couple's lives up to the wedding and then through the evening and their later lives.
