Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway

This is about the longest I can stand of Hemingway. A classic war story of love and desertion in the ambulance brigade of WWI Italy. I gather that parts are based on Hemingway's war-time experiences. The sentences are short but much attention is given to the emotional/atmospheric conditions, like rain or fog. I'm not sure I liked the character of Catherine although I think I was supposed to. I personally enjoyed The Sun Also Rises better.
