Waterland by Graham Swift

I'm not quite sure what to think of this book.
It was fun, that's for sure, but there's much more to it than a mystery and
tragedy. The structure is non-linear, the frame of a professor ending his
career and talking back and forth with a favorite student but going back to the
stories he telling. The theme is basically how history is what we tell
ourselves it is and because truth is stranger than fiction, what we tell
ourselves is perhaps a bit mundane compared to the reality. But humans always
need to ask why so we invent stories to explain it.
