What's in a Name? (An awful lot, in this case.)
Harper Lorine Xiao Qing Brumbaugh Walter Leprechaun of
the Middle Kingdom Musician from the Midwest (or Middle-Earth) "Gil-galad was an
Elven-king. "Harper" honors Lynnea's beloved Granny, Gladys Harper. We also like the name for its associations with Harper Lee, author of To Kill a Mockingbird. Finally, we like the spin Noah Webster gives the name: one who plays the harp. Troubadors often played the harp as they performed. "Lorine," in the meantime, recalls Lynnea's maternal grandmother, Lorene Brumbaugh. And if you are still reading this, you probably do not need an explanation of "Brumbaugh" or "Walter." |
