Katrina Relief

A great idea from Hughitt - if you are in Orange County and want to help Katrina victims, you can drop off all sorts of supplies at Woodbridge High School this Saturday, Sept. 10th

I had been searching for something to do about Katrina, some reputable charities to support with a donation. I think I may have found a great idea... from Hughitt:
And here's an effort to collect stuff that is in short supply in the relief areas: children's underwear, diapers, bottles, formula, pacifiers. If you live in Southern California, and have a good size quantity of these things that are prepackaged --please, no one or two drops offs-- you can bring them to Woodbridge H.S. in Irvine this Saturday between 1 and 5 PM. You can also make a cash donation to that effort.
My plan is this - take that money we were thinking of donating, go to Costco and stock up on water, food, etc, and take all of it down to Woodbridge HS (my alma mater). It's a great way to make a real impact in an area of great need. If you haven't given already, or if you have and want a chance to do more, please consider joining me in this effort.
UPDATE - It looks like they are not interested in individual's donations, but are rather looking for large donations made by local companies. Sorry if I caused any confusion. I decided instead to send money to a local church in TX that is helping evacuees.
