This week's notes are up

I've posted another week of class notes

As I did last week, I have updated my original post on the Justification class (the link is always in the highlighted posts section for future reference). I've now posted this week's notes. This week we took a look at Galatians 4:21-5:1.

I love this passage as it is one of those passages that make you just marvel at God's plan of redemption. It's a passage that appears pretty difficult to understand on the face of it because Paul is arguing heavily from Genesis and a lot of us are quite rusty on the Old Testament stories. But the wonderful thing about that is it forces you back into the Old Testament and as you read Genesis you start to see how God was providently and sovereignly at work throughout history to bring about His plan of redemption for us. It reminds me of something George Forrell said when he was teaching a class at our church - "You should read Luther's commentary on Genesis. He reads it like its the fifth Gospel." Looking at the passage in Galatians, its easy to see how Luther would come to that conclusion.
