When some previous owner converted to the fiberglass front end, he cut off the inner front fenders just forward of the main shock absorber support. This meant relocating the voltage regulator to the firewall. I didn't want the regulator on the firewall - I didn't want to have to unwrap and rebuild that section of the brand new harness. I would have to rebuild a section of it anyway, since I needed to split off the front light branch so I'd be able to remove the front end. So that meant fabricating and installing a new partial inner fender panel.
