attempt_1_in_plaster Had to have a door pocket. (Remember, one of the doors didn't have a pocket. It was pretty well rusted down there, so someone a long time back probably just ripped it off to save weight and work.

Anyway, my feeble attempts to turn up a metal one failed, and this was a simple shape and an excellent opportunity to lay up some fiberglass - an activity I've waited years to be able to justify.

So here's the mold (process not shown). It's plaster, with screen reinforcing and a 3/4" board backing the whole thing up. It weighed a few pounds, and wasn't very accurate, because I had covered the original with Saran Wrap so I could pull it off. A little patching, and it still looked like crap, but I decided to go ahead.
