There was just enough primer to cover the car's metal. The paint guy was a good estimator. I checked the car over, and added some more coverage where it seemed a little weak - I probably used a slightly different gun setting here, accounting for the different color around the rear wheel. I hope it holds up. So, painting completed, I cleaned up, shed my painter's heat generating outfit, and took down the booth plastic. The fan was covered with paint, and the tarp I'd put outside to keep fanned overspray from the driveway had primer dust on it, so it seemed that everything was working as expected. Then I saw the neighbor at her pool next door, and conversationally asked if she'd smelled anything while I was painting. Well, it wasn't too bad, she said. She'd only had to leave for a few minutes when the fumes seemed to just settle over the pool. |
