paint_shop Viewing this side of the car, the painter identified a crease and a couple of bumps in the rear quarter panel that he thought would not fly. I'd seen them, but figured that since I wasn't going for perfection and I'd already filled and sanded for months, they were part of the landscape. Not good enough for a pro, though, and in fact did look pretty bad when you stood back and looked (something I was not able to do readily.)

So after a brief discussion, subtly making sure I knew that it would jack his charge up a little more, but I'd be happier, he whipped out the filler, and within an hour had a pristine surface for paint. Based on his speed, I had maybe two days worth of body work on the car, instead of the months I'd spent. Ah well, the difference between the rank amatuer and the pro. He kept saying that, from where I started, I didn't have anything to be ashamed of at all seemed sincere, but I think he was just trying to make me feel better.
