The engine has been assembled and set up to initial specs, except for the cooling system. I wanted to start it and hear it running before getting it all wet and having to worry about water leaks, and a couple of seconds of uncooled running won't hurt. (I heard a story of a Mini engine without cooling adapted for stationary use on a farm that was repeatedly run until it got too hot and stopped, then after it unfroze was restarted for a hundred or more cycles.) |
