After painting, I added the quick-connect fasteners, one per side. This make the whole hood solid as a rock, averting one of my earlier concerns about stability. Across the top rain gutter of the cowl, I put a strip of black door edge "stuff" for the top of the hood to rest on. You have to be very careful when putting the hood on that the sides are spread wide enough to go over the tabs on the hinge panels. If one side ends up inside the tab, and you lift it and knee it into place, the edges get scratched. And the hood can scratch the cowl as it comes down. But all put together and secured, it looks great. |
