When I was casting about for ideas to allow the front clip to hinge, but not fall off on its nose, the winning suggestion came from Doug Scribner at Mini City. He suggested using a belt clip key retractor. I picked up one at a hardware store for about $3, put a little hook on the top headlamp mounting bolt, and clipped it right on. The screw in the retractor allowed easy mounting on (what's left of) the inner fender, and I can easily reach in and unclip it when I want to take the whole unit off. I modified the lighting harness with a trailer connector so that makes a complete disconnect.
