Bob Morane is a creation of the Belgian author Henri Vernes, and his adventures have been published from the early sixties on in a variety of (pocket) book formats for young people between 12 and 16. When I was a kid I used to read them all the time.

Bob Morane has sailed over seventy-seven seas, he has defied jungles, deserts, savannas, big cities, poisonous snakes, Mafia mobs, dinosaurs, meat-eating trees, migrating ants, vampire bats, avalanches and villains of every conceivable plumage. Together with his inseparable friend Bill Ballantine he has stood on the brink of death on countless occasions, and has spurned mortal fear in all its depth.

A while ago, by the side of a swimming pool I decided to recreate Bob Morane from memory and write an adventure in that distinct Henri Vernes style - people who are familiar with the pocket books from the sixties may recognize it.
