Nanny-state Net in overdrive

Content filters run amok

Online content filters are getting a little intrusive.

See this example from a Fox Sports site hockey blog.

Jackets head coach Ken HitchBLEEP<http://community.foxsports.com/CensorSetting.aspx?url=http%3a%2f%2fcommunity.foxsports.com%2fblogs%2fspector > thinks very highly of Peca, having coached him for Team Canada at the 2002 Winter Olympics. Peca's gritty style and work ethic makes him a HitchBLEEP<http://community.foxsports.com/CensorSetting.aspx?url=http%3a%2f%2fcommunity.foxsports.com%2fblogs%2fspector> -type player, and as the Columbus Dispatch noted Tuesday night announcing the signing Peca will likely see plenty of minutes this season.

The coach's name is Ken Hitchcock. I saw the same behavior on FullTilt last night when I referred to someone ordering a cocktail.

Let's hope no one talks about replacing their toilet mechanisms, or raising birds, or a game of badminton, or tells a tall tale, or a hunting story.
