Snarl, grumble, whine, complainTime to get back on the wagon
My weight has taken up semi-permanent
residence at a point about five pounds over my "fighting weight," on one of the
Body Mass Index borders for my height. This also happens to be a point at which
1) I have indigestion after every meal, no matter the size or content and 2) my
jeans and trousers become uncomfortable, and I have a bit of a "muffin top"
problem (AKA "dunlop disease" because your belly done lopped over the top of
your pants.)
I'm not the slightest bit surprised that this has happened. I'm exercising oh, not at all and my watching my diet has been pretty lousy ever since dress rehearsals started for the play. There was junk food in the green room every day, plus going out some evenings and cast parties. Then there was Daughter's confirmation, and Easter, with junk food always in the house. I slip into the mind-set of "we'll just finish this off" (where this is the cake and chips for the party, or the like) "and then we'll go back to eating healthily." But there's always something else in the house, and it never happens. So, there's nothing for it but to cut my carbs wa-haay back for a while and start getting some of the exercise that everybody is supposed to be getting every day to stay healthy. I think if I can be good, especially the diet part, for a couple of weeks until my birthday weekend then I can pull my weight back down to where I am happier with it. And yes, I know I should exercise and control what goes in my mouth all the time. But we're talking a couple of weeks of extreme low-carb here to thump my system back into order. I was going to the Y this morning to ride on the bike. But I got busy and then there wasn't enough time to get there, get 30 minutes in, get cleaned up, and get to the high school for my volunteering time. So I just took a walk. I didn't get in the 2 miles I usually do when I walk outdoors, but I was out 30 minutes. Yay, me. Daughter was given the choice of where to go for supper tonight to celebrate her great contest scores, and chose Noodles & Co. I ate a Chinese salad with grilled chicken. Yay again. But now it's 8 pm, there's half a pan of brownies in the kitchen plus the leftover Gus' Pretzels and all the chips and M&Ms from Hubby's card party last Saturday. And DAMN, I have the munchies bad.
