Back in the (bicycle) saddle again

Ouch

So, the ticker's up top again and I'm back to exercising, both aerobic and strength training. After three months of not seeing the inside of the Y. Oof.

I did manage to get a walk in once a week or so during September, but nothing like regular exercise. And the lack of Pilates class and weight machines was obvious... stuff that fit back in July does not want to zip around my middle any more, despite my having not gained any weight. The baby pooch requires constant vigilance or it returns rapidly. Blech.

So I'm hauling myself to the Y the minute I shove the boys out the door on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (so I can get done and cleaned up in time to go in and help in the Orchestra office) and putting in a half-hour of aerobic exercise and a round on the weight machines. The next session of classes starts up late this month, and I'll enroll in Tuesday Pilates again. It's amazing how that makes the tummy go away...

I'm counting bike miles as real miles this time around, because the second quarter of this year taught me that to treat a biking session as two walking miles makes me run the risk of coming nowhere close to my goal should there be a week or two where life's too hectic, or I'm too ill, to make it to the gym. And since when isn't the holiday season hectic?

Watch the slider, Camera fans. I want to put at least 10 miles a week on it -- four walking and six on the stationary bike.
