Another 100 miles
Let's see if I can make this one
I did 95 miles walking and biking the
first three months of this year, except that I didn't start until 2 weeks into
the period, and I was completely out of commission for two weeks with
bronchitis. So, I did those 95 miles in 9 weeks. (A three-month period has 13
weeks, remember?)
I hope to do the full 100 miles this
time around, and to do more of them walking (IOW, spend more time exercising).
Possible obstacles:
• The end of the school year means
an increase in activities. Although I do my exercising while the kids are in
school, I may lose that time to household chores that I would ordinarily have
time for after school, but not with the end-of-year commitments.
•
• The kids have their last day of
school right before Labor Day, which means I don't have to get out of bed and
cleaned up by any particular hour during the month of June. The only day I made
it to the Y during spring break was the day I had Pilates class. They don't
hold such classes during the summer because they need the space for day
campers.
•
• I have company coming during
April and maybe May. I'd certainly rather spend time with them than at the Y...
(grin)
But we'll give it a
go.
My new ticker reflects the
instigator of the diet and exercise: a week in Hawaii in July. I am seriously
motivated not to look like a sausage where someone tried to put too much meat in
the casing.
Oh, I changed the
category name a bit. This seems like the right sort of place to talk about
health, but the title didn't really reflect that. And if you scroll down-blog
and notice the new category pic on old entries, well that's an iBlog
"feature."
