"That way madness lies"
Time for some Shakespeare!
St. Louis Shakespeare's summer season is
upon us. This year they're presenting
The
Odyssey and
King
Lear over the next month,
Romeo and
Juliet in the fall, and
Edward
III (a newly-authenticated
Shakespeare!) next spring. They're also doing a reading of
War of the Worlds
sometime this fall, if I'm
interpreting the auditions call correctly.
Last year, we bought two adult
and one student season ticket and alternated taking #1-Son and Daughter, which
led to some arguments over who was going to which play. This year, to save some
bucks and so everybody gets to see everything,
and
because I know the House Manager now, we're ushering in sets of two -- one adult
and one teen -- for two different performances of each play. No arguments and
no money spent. Heh. However, #2-Son is fond of
Romeo and
Juliet (they did a reading of it in
his IEP Language Arts class last year, he read Benvolio) and I may end up just
paying for two tickets and taking him to a performance.
