Epidamnus,
formerly Illyria, a colony of Corcyra, which was itself a colony of Corinth.
Now the city of Durrēs, the main port city of
Albania.
Ephesus, an important
trade center for the ancient world and an early seat of Christianity, now an
important tourist site in the city of Selkuk,
Turkey.
Syracuse, a settled by
Corinthians on the island of Sicily and at one time the most powerful Greek city
anywhere in the Mediterranean. Now part of
Italy.
Corinth, a city in
Greece about 50 miles southwest of Athens, on the other side of the Isthmus of
Corinth. One of the biggest, baddest, most expensive city-states of ancient
Greece.
