Start me up

Time to 'speriment

So, let's see if I can pull off this cake idea. No, I still can't tell you what I'm doing. Hubs reads the blog during lunch. I can tell you I'm not making the el-cheat-o 9" x 13" Black Forest Cake from Help! I Have a Fire in My Kitchen, though.

I heart Baker's Joy and the other flour-inclusive spray-oil products. But I hate the mess it leaves in my sink after I spray the pans. Miss Martha or somebody suggests doing it on the door of the dishwasher so you don't have to clean it up. If I did that, I'd have that junk all over my kitchen floor. Eew.

Y'know the best thing about baking a cake when nobody is home? The bowl, the beaters, the spatula -- Mine, All Mine! (Bwah hah hah hah!)

My ISP has been Teh Suck slow the last two days. It's taking simply ages just to download three-line emails, and as for web pages... I might as well have dial-up. It's not my box I don't think, 'cause I'm not having trouble starting applications. Although last night Hubs complained that earlier he had downloaded some update that Mac swore was necessary to improve security that really bolloxed-up the sound levels. Hmmmm......

When I bought Hubs' birthday cards yesterday, the Hallmark store had coffee mugs as one of their perpetual three-card deals:

Daughter said it was perfect. It was either this one or "No, I can't provide 4 dozen cookies by tomorrow morning," but that time of my life is pretty much over. Now, my high-schoolers mostly bring home sheets of paper extorting horrendous amounts of money for yearbooks, class rings, standardized tests for college entrance, AP exams, summer study programs, etc.
