It's beginning to smell a lot like Christmas


Simmering potpourri


Toss this in some water in a saucepan on low on the stove's back burner, or in the humidifier pot on your woodstove, or a potpourri simmering pot . Your house will smell like you've been cooking for the holidays when you haven't.

Mama's Potpourri

1 cinnamon stick
1 bay leaf
5 whole allspice
1/2 tbsp. whole cloves

Just keep adding water and you can keep this going two or three days before you need to change it. Got some orange or clemintine peel? Toss in a bit of that, too.
