Strawberry LemonadeBalanced flavors
In the spring, a food editor's fancy
turns to thoughts of strawberries. This recipe makes a thicker drink with a
good balance between lemon and strawberry flavors. It kinda begs for a little
rum or tequila (grin). You can turn this into a slush by freezing it in ice
cube trays and processing the cubes in a blender or food processor. (If you can
get it into the freezer before the family shows up -- the blender calls my kids
like an electric can opener does a
cat.)
Strawberry Lemonade from the April 2006 issue of Southern Living Makes 8 cups Prep: 10 minutes 1 (12-oz.) can lemonade concentrate, thawed (limeade concentrate may be substituted) 1 (16-oz.) container fresh strawberries, hulled 1/4 c. powdered sugar Prepare lemonade according to package directions. Process strawberries and powdered sugar in a blender or food processor until smooth, stopping to scrape down the sides; stir into lemonade. Serve over ice. Store in refrigerator for up to three days.
