Eyeballing the iPod Video

Those pokers and prodders of all geek-toys, Ars Technica (gotta love their motto: "Serving the PC enthusiast for over 6x10-2 centuries"), turned their evil eyes to the iPod Video. They discovered:

1) It's just the screen that makes it look so wide -- it's the same width as a 4th Gen iPod (and only half as thick -- thinner than a 3G even).

2) No Firewire connection supported, you have to use a USB cable.

3) Currently supports only H.264 and MPEG-4 formats (see site for full specs) so you budding filmmakers will have to stick to those formats.

4) The iPod to television interface ain't the greatest, but the display itself is crisp and not a problem to watch.

5) The insides.
