WeirdWho'da thunk?
My iPod earbuds are on the table next to
the iMac, because I use them sometimes to listen to music / videos on the
computer without disturbing the rest of the household. I'd called Daughter in
to tell her about Wil being on
NUMB3RS
and show her his
latest entry on taping it. She, being her father's daughter (IOW, an
inveterate fiddler and fidgeter), picked up the earbuds and started clacking
them together.
"Hey!" she said. "I think these are magnetic." "Don't be silly," I replied, relieving her of them. She breaks things. And I hate fidgeting. "No, really. Try it." So I did. And damn, they are. Same pole; they repel each other. Yes, I know how speakers work. I just didn't figure on there being a strong enough magnet in my earbuds to be noticeable.
