This Frank Lucas is not to be confused with the gangster of the same name played by Denzel Washington in a recent movie. That does not make him any less dangerous, however. Certainly not in the musical sense. His "killer" skills on the keyboard have been honed by studying under Jordan Rudess. Yes! That Jordan Rudess.
His virtuosity has made him an in-demand collaborator. Michael Angelo Batio, Neil Zaza, Kevin Chalfant, and Andy West are among those who have chosen to work with Frank Lucas.
His current band is a power trio with him playing the Keith Emerson role. His bandmates are Drummer Chuck White and Bassist Steve Edsey. They are signed to a worldwide deal with ProgRock Records.
One of his most significant recent achievement was winning the opening slot for MoogFest 2006. This concert was headlined by the Keith Emerson Band. Other performers include Jan Hammer, Roger O'Donell, The Mahavishnu Project, Bernie Worell, and his former teacher, Jordan Rudess.
Frank is co-owner of one of the premiere commercial recording studios in the Chicago area - Planet 10 Studios.
