NoyProg.com was started to promote Prog artists in the Philippines and Filipino Prog artists outside the Philippines. The goal is to encourage the Prog scene in the Philippines, in the hope of making it known for its Prog music the way that fans think of the US, UK, Canada, Italy, and Japan as the home of world-class Prog bands.

Progressive Rock In The Philippines

The promotion of Progressive Rock in the Philippines is undertaken by the organization known as "The Colony." Their efforts including the series of festivals called, "In Progression" are led by members of the band Fuseboxx and their management.

NoyProg

The origin of "NoyProg" as a nickname for Filipino Progressive Rock comes from a feature of Filipino humor where the syllables of a two syllable word are reversed. For example, a man named "Ruben" might be called "Benru" by his friends. "Pinoy" is short for "Filipino." So, "NoyProg" comes from "Noypi" plus "Prog."
