1966-1973: Minor Changes
Plate blanks were now produced with a white back so that they could be used interchangeably for non-passenger markers, which had reversed colors. Now that tabs were no longer utilized the production of markers with tab slots was ended. Prefix letters were now separated from the numbers with a dot. Starting in 1968 slightly thinner letters and numbers were utilized. Markers issued in this period for new passenger vehicle registrations ranged from FP 1000 to NZ 9999 and ZA 1000 to ZF 9999. The letters C, D, R, and X are not used in the first alphabetic position as they are reserved for Combination, Used Dealer, Repair, and New Dealer marker types. The letter “Q” has never been used for a regular issue passenger marker in Connecticut.
