Posted a video from Lou showing a probable tornado near Sitka and Protection, Kansas, last week on May 4th. This is the cell that spawned the tornado that devastated Greensburg, Kansas about 45 minutes later.

Posted another video showing the drive before pulling into the rest area on US-87. The trees are really whipping around on the side of the road. The van was tough to drive in the winds, which at that point were probably in the 40-50 mph range.

Yes, another very long time between updates. This time I'm on the road storm chasing. I've uploaded several videos of hurricane-force winds we encountered just outside of San Angelos, Texas today.

Initial part at rest area on US-87.

Second part at rest area on US-87 - highest intensity winds.

Light standard next to the van moving.

Wind and rain pick up just as I prepare to go outside to get my anemometer from the van.

Others notice the NOAA logo on Lou's shirt

Me outside measuring the wind gusts with my anemometer (about 30 mph at that point).

Wow! It's been a long time since I've updated! Anyhoo, changed the link on the front page to point at McClel-land, a server I run at my house. It has a weather station, and now a live web cam (available 7 AM to 8 PM Pacific Time) showing our new courtyard. Plus, there's pictures of the real rulers of McClel-land...

21 July 2005

Moved my site from tfb.com to mac.com. will be moving my www.axolotlimages.com site as well in the near future. It may be down for a while.

4 July 2005

Restored the link to the current Rancho Contenta weather page, as I now have a dedicated server running the software.

16 April 2005

Updated my resume again. Took down the weather pages as I'm not keeping the server running all the time.
