  • 1 stick (half cup) butter, softened
  • ½ teaspoon cloves
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 box dark brown sugar

directions

Empty brown sugar into a medium sized bowl, add dry ingredients and mix well. Add 1 stick softened butter or margarine, and mix well. This may mean using a fork to get the mixture completely worked up. It will be a very heavy, concentrated mixture.

Store this in a covered container in the refrigerator until ready for use. Take one rounded teaspoon of the mixture and put in a cup, add one jigger of rum, and fill the cup with boiling water. The mixture will keep in the refrigerator for several months.
