MicroPatent Announces the Release of Aureka 9.0, Enhancements to PatentWeb and a New Alerting Service
Abstract
MicroPatent announced that as of Sunday, June 1st 2003 the new Aureka 9.0 service was available for existing Aureka customers. Enhancements in version 9.0 primarily are associated with the addition of MicroPatent's patent databases and Boolean searching to the system. Additional enhancements involve the use of non-Aureka (otherwise known as corporate documents) data sources in ThemeScape maps.
On the PatentWeb side, documents can now be downloaded in XML format.

MicroPatent is excited to announce the launch of Aureka® 9.0. This release features significant upgrades to Aureka and is slated for launch in June. Aureka 9.0 integrates MicroPatent’s comprehensive content into its powerful advanced analysis platform, creating an unmatched, enterprise-wide intellectual
property management application.
The enhanced Aureka 9.0 platform will include the following:
• Expanded coverage featuring MicroPatent’s PatSearch® FullText
databases (US-A, US-G, DE-A, DE-C, DE-T, DE-U, EP-A, EP-B,
GB-A, WO-A, and JP abstracts).
• Precise search tools – including Boolean operators, combined
queries, and 17 “Choose a Field” options.
• Theme mapping analysis capabilities for patent and non-patent
documents.
• The improved reliability of the BRS search engine – the same
search engine on which MicroPatent runs.
• Plus many additional user-friendly features.
Additionally, the release of Aureka 9.0 allows for the creation of theme maps on both patent and non-patent documents alike!

We are happy to report that PatentWeb subscribers can now download documents in XML format, as well as can export legal status data to third-party applications or proprietary programs.
The XML downloads let you take tagged data files from the PatSearch FullText authorities/countries we cover and import it into XML-compliant tools and databases, such as ClearForest, for further review and analysis.
The legal status exports expedite your analysis of legal status information given the easy way you can now incorporate this information in programs you run.
