Visiting the Relatives

. . . for wee must Consider that wee shall be as a Citty upon a Hill, the eies of all people are uppon us; soe that if wee shall deale falsely with our god in this worke wee have undertaken and soe cause him to withdrawe his present help from us, wee shall be made a story and a byword through the world . . .

Back From Boson. Here is the picture of the gravestone for one of my great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandfather John Winthrop.
Grave Stone of John Winthrop

I like to think I am named after John's great-grandfather (my great^16 grandfather) Adam Winthrop. But I don't think my parents knew about him.

That's one great^13 grandfather out of 32,768 great^13 grandparents down. I also know his wife's name, Mary Forth. So really, I only need to figure out 32,766 more. As a note, our incomplete records currently suggest that my great^10 grandmother Mary Lyon may be my first ancestor born in the New World. She was born in Fairfield, CT in August of 1649.
