Reunion!

The Governor's School Reunion from 3-5 today was interesting enough to warrant both photographs and an entry.

I don't know 95% of the people in this picture, so I don't expect you to ID them either. If you can, then you and I probably are not friends. Because you are only 19 and still in college. I like the banner they made for us. Very generic. Will we see it next year? I'm taking all bets. I didn't steal it, so I can't say for certainty what will occur regarding the banner. I wonder who is in charge of it during the school year. I imagine it is not treated like gold.

The class of 1998 was represented by David T, Tiffanie C, Andy L, and me. Not exactly the most balanced group, but it was a party. There wasn't much to do, but we did it all. Of course, since I talk regularly with all of the other people there, it wasn't much of a reunion. I took a lot of pictures, and may put up some shots from the day on a separate page. But only if I find the motivation to do so when I get back to NYU and its super-fast internet connection. You will just have to cross your fingers for that one. But not for too long. I don't want you to get cramps or anything. Also, I'll probably do it or not do it regardless of the way you hold your hand. Unless you are holding a gun with it.

Mark W led us on a tour because he has been working there as a sub and therefore knows the layout well enough to bluff his way though it. As you can see, we found the weight room. David is doing horrible things to that machine thankfully. Other highlights included Schrieber's desk and Wilkes' classroom. The school remains impressive as does the willingness of the PTA to spring for cheese and crackers for alumni. I signed up to answer questions about the school for some kind of documentary. Being in NYC will keep it from being a video interview, which is probably for the best since I do not think I want to be filmed while answering. Rolling your eyes can really make your answers seem less sincere.

After the exploration of the school, I ate at Penny Lane and then went Bowling on lanes at Sunset. Both were good events. I found out someone had abused my elementary school and that Hollins College has a third mini-semester. Oh, and that the deal at Sunset bowling basically gets you three rounds for the price of two plus free soda and popcorn. Greg learned that you cannot trade soda for beer. Actually, bowling taught us all a little something. (This is bowling, not Nam. There are rules.) Here is a picture to finish the journal entry.

Richmond has been a blast. I failed to see one or two people that I figured I would see (sorry Praveen and most of you LJ users), but overall, I think it was a successful break. In rough order of appearance, the first initials of the people I saw while back in Virginia (excluding my family) were Williamsburg (C, J, M, A, J, M, B), (Chesterfield) P, A, (Richmond) T, M, M, A (Nova) M, (Cville) C, K, J, D, C, M, D, E, M, B, C (Western VA) P, L, A, (Cville) M (Richmond) A, D, G, R, F. I think that's everyone important. If you feel that your initial is missing from the first time we met up, let me know, but I imagine you won't call me on it.

The next entry promises to be posted from NYC*!
