Stanley Park Damage

We walked through Stanley Park on Sunday, March 4th 2007 to look at the damage done in the Nov/Dec 2006 windstorms

Cut down trees waiting to be logged away linger... everywhere. This parking lot near the Vancouver Aquarium... has become a temporary storage area. Kim parks the car in one of the few spots. Driving towards Prospect Point The parking lot at Prospect. A wall of trees... used to be here. All the trees are almost gone. Many simply snapped off their trunks. Or are about to. Again, there used to be a wall of trees here... on the parking lot down from Prospect Pt. Walking down towards the Hollow Tree You never used to be able to see the ocean here. Looking north towards Prospect Pt. The road was only recently cleared. Kim next to a fallen tree. Look how big the roots are! As the road goes down, the tree line improves... ...somewhat. In others, the walls of trees are completely gone. Near the first picnic area after Prospect Point Logs litter block the exit to the seawall & Siwash rock.
