September
12th meant the opening of the 2004 NFL season. And I was at the Linc to cheer my
Iggles on.
Future brother-in-law Dave Wilson and I took the
hike into South Philly early on September 12th to watch the Eagles tear the
Giants of New York a new one during the opening of the 2004 football
season.
My automotive writer, Tom Keane
was kind enough to hook me up with some swanky seats on the 40 yard line, 10
rows from the field. It was here that you could really see the players and see
just why cheerleaders were
necessary.
Dave and I began our day at
3:30 with a couple of beers and some Wilson-provided
subs.
The
signs read "no tailgating" but my heart and liver said "oh,
yes."
After a couple of beers we headed
to the stadium, Lincoln Financial Field in time for kick-off. Needless to say,
we needed to take a big, gay
photo.
We
were close enough to see all the players stand around on and off the field
...
...
Donovan McNabb out of the pocket
...
...
and the Eagles kicked some Giant butt, 31-17. Good
times.
