Christmas Tree Hunt

The America-living Guschls and Luhrs (and future Guschl) held their annual X-mas tree hunt in Odessa, Delaware.

Ah. The days after Thanksgiving are the days where one sits and waits for butt-loads of presents to be presented upon them. But prior to all that and to begin the anticipation of aforementioned event, the Guschls all set out to find the family Christmas tree to be held at the new family homestead of Chestertown, Maryland. The selection of the tree has been held on the days right after Thanksgiving. Some may think this is early, but we typically do it to take advantage of either visiting college siblings or those who are in town for the long Thanksgiving holiday and who would not return until Christmas.

The day is usually cold and windy and today was no exception. We met at the Middletown Ruby Tuesday, ate lunch and went tree hunting.

Here are my photos.

Sebastian ("Bash") was quite happy to be included. I told him he was tree hunting with us last year, but had the most obstructed view seat in the field. Poor guy. But he took a ride on his daddy's back and was a trooper in the cold weather.

Mom, the ever vigilant recorder of family activities was on hand (and on tractor ride) to photograph the day's event.

After looking for about 10 minutes, Jo found the tree that was just right.

So, I cut her down (I had help. But, not much help).

We had the tree bound for easy transport.

Jocelyn and Tommy started their young-Luhr-family X-mas tradition with a tiny tree. Neither are in the picture. But, Becky helped take it down.

Dad put the Guschl family tree on the car. Chestertown bound.

Bash, on the other hand, discovered peppermint. Oh the mess that was made. Talk about a sticky situation.

Har har.
