So ........

Ok. I get it. I haven't posted anything in awhile. I've been busy all the while neglecting my blog duties. How else are people going to know what is happening in my life without talking to me?

My last posting was waaaaaaay back on the Eve of the New Year.

Here's what has happened since then.

I went to Miami on my first grown-up business trip outside of a drivable area. It was pretty sweet. I had a swanky hotel room and meals covered by The News Journal. Oh, and I got to brush up on learning about the Latino market.

Sadly, no days of January Sun, just lots of Mojitos.

Then, more stuff happened in Delaware.

Next, I went to Estonia. Yes, THAT Estonia. This was labeled "Bachelor Party Number 1." We did lots of cool things like drink, dance, shoot automatic weapons, eat and look at a really cool old town (Tallinn, where we stayed).

After that was more Delaware stuff.

And then, in April I had three more bachelor parties. One, thanks to my co-workers at Dead Presidents (where else?). The next, big one courtesy of my brother's wicked planning. We played paintball then got our drink on in Baltimore. The last was a neat idea of the different stages of my life in Delaware and friends I met on my way through life. First, was dinner at Grotto's in Newark. There I had dinner with James, Darren, Mike, Adrienne, Peter and Kent. The last two were there all night long. The firs four were my first college friends. Rob was unavailable at the time, but he would have been the fifth.

Next was drinks at the Deer Park. This is where I hung out with my Review friends. Dear old friends Ryan and Betsy met us there. After some brews, we headed over to Dead Presidents to meet up with News Journal friends and everyone else. Ed, Esteban, Mary Dugan, Patrick and many more came on by to help me get drunk.
Thanks to Pete for arranging that (while in Singapore, mind you), driving my drunk ass home and everyone else who bought me drinks.

I didn't have my camera, otherwise I'd share the images with you. Esteban's blog will fill you in.

So, then more people kept coming in to town and more drinks were had.

Then, I got married to a lovely lass, Becky.

The ceremony was awesome, Rev. Jane Stover had a great sermon written just for us describing how we met and how we were both at the right place at the right time. She tied it all together with the Coke "Real Thing" tagline.

Here are the church images.

Our reception was at Archmere Academy in Claymont. The place was a fantastic place to celebrate our day. The weather was in the mid-60s, sunny ... you couldn't ask for a better April, spring day in Delaware.

So, as far as I know, everyone got drunk, had a great time and loves us.

Afterwards, we headed to the Hotel DuPont where our room was decorated courtesy of some sneaky family members and hotel staff.

After that, we said our "good-byes" to visiting family members and headed out on our honeymoon the following Monday.

We visited Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.

The resort (all-inclusive) was very nice. Much better than I thought.

We had all the drinks and food we could muster, occasionally good weather and a nice, relaxing atmosphere. Like other developing nations, the locals have things they want to sell, or just plain and simply want your money/handouts.

We spent our time on the beach or at the pool. We took a trip into the capitol, Santo Domingo. Had we had more information on the trip we might not have gone. First, we were to report at 6:20 in the morning. I don't know about you, but waking up at 5:45 on my vacation is not first in my books. Second, the trip was a 4 hour bus trip just to get there.

Along the way, we experienced a flat tire ...

... the caves of "The Three Eyes" ...

... downtown shopping ...

... a barbershop (we never got our hair cut, I was just amused by Hollywood's influence in the Dominican Republic) ...

... Christopher Columbus' son's house where Christopher Columbus may or may not have visited ...

... the "New World's" first cathedral ...

... we let sleeping dogs lie ...

... Tad growing a vacation beard ...

... and time for just the two of us.

We had a fun plane trip back with some turbulence. But we had a great time and Becky was happy the plane landed and we got home alive.

So, that's most of it. Now back to work and finally the start of my frisbee season (four weeks into the season).

Oh, and the Eagles made it to the Superbowl, only to lose.

I'll keep better postings in the future.

See you in August!
